Marquette, MI – September, 7 2018 – The Marquette Redmen hosted the Sault Ste. Marie Blue Devils in the third game of the 2018 season. Marquette was 0-2 going into this match-up and sought their first win of the season. The Blue Devils were 1-1 but around this time last year the Redmen were victorious over Sault Ste. Marie.
The Redmen were off to the races as the first touchdown of the game belonged to Marquette. A beautiful pass from quarterback Brendan Kaski to wide receiver Ethan Martysz brought the score to 7-0 with the extra point.

Marquette, MI – August 30, 2018 – Football season continued as the Marquette Redmen took on the Traverse City Central Trojans on a beautiful late August evening. Marquette cashed in on a fumble and achieved first down at their own 3 yard line to start but after a strong first drive Marquette couldn’t make it to the end-zone. On their second drive, however, the Trojans managed to snag that first touchdown and extra point to bring the score to 7-0. Calumet, Michigan – August 30th, 2018– The Negaunee Miners traveled to Calumet Thursday night where they faced the Copper Kings. The mild temperature and the calm winds made it the perfect night for some high school football! The game started with action right away with an opening-drive Copper King touchdown made by senior Sam Erkkila. Negaunee, MI – August, 24 – Negaunee Miners football came out swinging against the Iron Mountain Mountaineers with a 66 yard drive capped off by a Jason Waterman rushing touchdown. Iron Mountain blocked the extra point to keep the score at 6-0, and that’s where it stood at the end of the first quarter. There weren’t many opportunities for either team in the second quarter. During the final drive of the half Erik Salminen kicked a 20 yard field goal to put Negaunee up 9-0.
