Kingsford, MI – September 9, 2020 – The Marquette Redmen boy soccer team traveled to Kingsford Tuesday night for a varsity soccer match.  Marquette came out strong and never looked back with a 6-0 win.  It started with sophomore Max Dawson taking a cross pass from senior Nick Lindberg at the 7 minute mark.  Lindberg then found freshman Ethan Sandstrom 4 minutes later for a 2-0 lead.  Lindberg distributed another pass to Dawson for a chip in goal and a 3-0 lead.  Junior Harrison Anthos took net duties in the second half and stopped all 5 shots.

Marquette now hosts Kingsford in their home opener Thursday night and sit at 2 wins, 0 losses, 1 tie.

“Offensively Nick Lindberg was almost unstoppable.  That combination with him and Max came up big tonight.  Our defensive mids of Evan Sysko, John Weber, Lewis Goff, and Hayden Byma controlled the game with very strong plays.” – Coach Dan Salmon.
