The Tigers lost in 13 innings to the Baltimore Orioles, 13 to 11 last night at Comerica Park.
Orioles’ first baseman Chris Davis had the game’s decisive hit, a two-run home run in top of the 13th
inning that gave Baltimore the lead for good.
It was a very good night for right-fielder J.D. Martinez.
He smashed a pair of home runs in last night’s loss, including a grand slam in the bottom of the 7th inning that gave the Tigers a – brief – 8 to 7 lead.
Game two is tonight.
The Orioles will start Ubaldo Jimenez and the Tigers will send out Michael Fulmer.
The first pitch is scheduled for 7:10.
