In the Model Town, the Manistique Emeralds are looking to bounce back from their first two losses of the season as the face 0-2 Gwinn. The Model Towners will look to avenge last year’s 34-13 loss. For The Emeralds, it’s been a tough road to start the season against conference rivals Negaunee and Ishpeming. At the Playgrounds in Ishpeming, it’s a non-conference matchup between the Hematites and Calumet Copper Kings. Both teams come into the game undefeated, riding a solid an exciting start to the season. The Copper Kings beat a tough Gladstone team 26-7 last week and are 1-0 in the WestPAC. They’ll face the 2-0 Ishpeming Hematites that opened the season with a win against conference rival Iron Mountain on the road. In the Iron Town, the Negaunee Miners will host a non-conference matchup against the Gladstone Braves tonight. The Braves come in to Negaunee with a 1-1 record. A win to start the season in Sault Ste Marie and a loss to Calumet chalk the record of the Braves. The Miners are coming off back-to-back wins, including a solid performance last week against Munising. Friday Night in Negaunee gets underway on Sunny 101.9 WKQS at 7 PM.
