The Detroit Tigers closed out a week-long road trip with a 9 to 6 win over the Minnesota Twins yesterday.
Matt Boyd was the starter and winner for the Tigers.
He limited Minnesota to just 3 runs – while striking out 8 – over six innings.
Shortstop Jose Iglesias had three hits and drove in three runs to lead the Tigers’ offensive attack in the win, which is the sixth for Detroit in their last nine games.
Tonight the Tigers return to Comerica park to start a three-game series with the Kansas City Royals.
Justin Verlander will start for the Tigers and Jason Hammel will take the mound for the Royals.
The first pitch is scheduled for 7:10.
