The final regular season game of the year for the Negaunee Miners find them hosting the Patriots of Westwood.
The Miners took the opening kickoff and drove the ball 68 yards down the field. Westwood held the goal line for 2 short yardage TD attempts, stopping Negaunee until Miner RB Tyler Baumont drove in from 2 yards out to score with 8 minutes left in the quarter. RB Zach Schultz punched in for the 2 point conversion to make it 8-0 after the opening possession. Negaunee continued to score against a struggling Westwood defense, and the Patriots spent the 1st half plagued by turnovers offensively, and Negaunee held Westwood scoreless through the 1st half and taking a 36-0 lead into the locker room.
Westwood continued to have possession issues and a running clock to start the 2nd half of play; The Patriots1st points of the game came early in the 4th quarter as RB Brock Lawry runs in for the TD, with QB Zac French connecting with WR Mitch Caldwell for the 2 point conversion to make it 50-8 with about 8 minutes left in the game, and that would be Westwood’s Only score of the night.
