MLB – The Texas Rangers Use Power to Beat The Tigers

Posted on August 16, 2017 in Professional Sports News.

Home runs from Joey Gallo, Mike Napoli, and Robinson Chirinos gave the Texas Rangers a 10 to 4 win over the Detroit Tigers yesterday in Texas.

Justin Verlander was the starter and loser for the Tigers.

Verlander pitched 6 innings, giving up 5 runs on 8 hits while stiking out 8 and walking none.

Victor Martinez was 2 for 3 with 2 runs scored and one RBI.

The series wraps up tonight in Arlington.

Anibal Sanchez will start for the Tigers and Cole Hamels goes to the mound for the Rangers.

Game time is scheduled for 8:05.

While speaking to reporters before last night’s game, second baseman Ian Kinsler criticized umpire Angel Hernandez.

Calling him a bad umpire and saying that Hernandez needs to ‘re-evaluate his career choices’.

Hernandez ejected Kinsler in the 5th inning of Monday night’s loss to taxes, after Kinsler questioned the veteran umpire’s strike zone during a couple of his at-bats.

Currently there is no response from Hernandez on what Kinsler had to say.
