In all, Tigers pitchers gave up the 9 runs on 15 hits, striking out 5 and walking 1.
All-star shortstop Francisco Lindor drove in three runs to power the Indians’ offensive attack.
The Tigers return to Comeria Park tonight for a weekend series with the New York Yankees.
Mike Fiers goes to the mound for the Tigers and the Yankees will start Jordan Montgomery.
The first pitch is scheduled for 7:10.
