Astros move to American League nest year.

Posted on October 3, 2012 in Sports News - Yooper & Michigan.

Today is the last day the Houston Astros play as a National League team.

The Astros will make the switch from the National League Central to the American League West Division next season.

The move will create balance between the two leagues with 15 teams each as well as give all six MLB divisions five teams each.

The Astros will play their National League finale this afternoon against the Chicago Cubs at Wrigley Field, the same team they broke into the majors against as the Houston Colt .45s back in 1962.
