Tigers beat Yanks – go up 2 to 0 in ALCS

Anibal Sanchez struck out seven over seven innings of shutout baseball to pace the Detroit Tigers to a 3-0 win over the New York Yankees in Game Two of the ALCS yesterday.

Miguel Cabrera, Avisail Garcia and Delmon Young each had an RBI for the Tigers, who won 6-4 in 12 innings in Game 1 on Saturday night.

Phil Coke pitched the final two innings to pick up the save yesterday.

Hiroki Kuroda struck out 11 but gave up three runs in seven-and-two-thirds innings for the loss. The Yankees managed only four hits.

Detroit hosts Game Three on Tuesday night.
