Cards beat Giants..go up 3-1 in NLCS

Adam Wainwright fired seven innings of four-hit, one-run ball, to lead the Cardinals to an 8-3 win over the Giants in Game Four of the NLCS.

Wainwright struck out five and walked none to earn the win.

Jon Jay, Matt Holliday and Yadier Molina scored two runs apiece to help the defending World Series champs take a 3-1 lead in the best-of-seven series.

The Cards can close out the series with a win Friday night.

Pablo Sandoval belted a two-run homer and Hunter Pence added a solo shot for San Francisco.

Tim Lincecum allowed four runs in four-and-two-thirds innings to take the loss.
