NFL – Chargers beat Chiefs

The San Diego Chargers scored twice defensively in a 31-13 of the Kansas City Chiefs last night.

Shaun Phillips recovered a fumble in the end zone and Demorrio Williams returned an interception 59 yards for a touchdown as the Chargers forced Kansas City into four total turnovers.

Philip Rivers threw for 220 yards with two touchdowns and an interception as the Chargers improved to 4-and-4.

Ryan Mathews ran for 67 yards on 13 carries while Antonio Gates and Malcom Floyd each hauled in a TD grab.

Matt Cassel threw the interception while passing for 181 yards for the Chiefs, who dropped their record to 1-and-7 on the season.
