College Football Bowl Update

The Louisville Cardinals scored early and often to beat the Florida Gators 33-23 and win the Sugar Bowl in New Orleans.

Louisville’s Terell Floyd returned a 38-yard interception for a touchdow on the opening play from scrimmage.

Teddy Bridgewater threw for 266 yards, two touchdowns and an interception for the Cardinals. Jeremy Wright ran for 84 yards and a TD in the win.

Jeff Driskell tossed for 175 yards, a score and a pair of picks in defeat. Florida’s Andre Debose had a 100-yard kickoff return for a score.

Both teams end the season at 11-and-2.

Two of the nation’s better offenses square off tonight as fourth-ranked Oregon faces number-five Kansas State in the Fiesta Bowl at University of Phoenix Stadium.

The Ducks and Wildcats were both 10-and-0 and on pace to meet in the BCS title game until being derailed by late-season losses.

Oregon fell 17-14 in overtime to Stanford, while Kansas State was beaten 52-24 by Baylor.

The Ducks then rebounded to beat Oregon State and come into this game 11-and-1 overall, including 8-and-1 in Pac-12 play.

The Wildcats also responded with a win over Texas to improve to 11-and-1 overall, with an 8-and-1 Big 12 record.
