NFL – The Detroit Lions And The Green Bay Packers Lose – So Do The Chicago Bears

Posted on December 23, 2013 in Professional Sports News.

The Detroit Lions will not be playing in the playoffs this season after the New York Giants defeated them 23-20 in overtime at Ford Field yesterday.

The loss knocks the Lions down to 7-and-8 for the season and out of postseason contention.

Matt Stafford threw for 222 yards and a pair of interceptions for the Lions.

The Lions are at Minnesota to end the regular season on Sunday.

The Pittsburgh Steelers beat the Green Bay Packers 38 to 31 at Lambeau Field.

Ben Roethlisberger completed 16 of 28 passes for 167 yards and two touchdowns.

Le’Veon Bell carried the ball 26 times for 124 yards and one touchdown.

Matt Flynn was 21 of 39 for 232 yards and one touchdown.

Eddy Lacy had 15 carries for 84 yards and two touchdowns.

The Chicago Bears also lost to the Philadelphia Eagles 54 to 11 …and that sets up a showdown for the NFC North next week as the Packers travel to Soldier Field to take on the Bears.

The winner of that game wins the NFC North Division and the loser goes home.
