College Football – It’s Auburn And Florida State In The BCS Championship Game

Posted on January 6, 2014 in Sports News - Yooper & Michigan.

The BCS era in college football comes to an end tonight at the Rose Bowl when top-ranked Florida State meets number-two Auburn in the BCS National Championship Game.

The system will be replaced next season by a selection committee and the College Football Playoffs.

The ACC champion Seminoles come in at 13-and-0 after winning their conference title game over Duke in December.

FSU is led by Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback Jameis (JAY-miss) Winston.

Florida State last won the national championship in 1999.

The Tigers defeated rival Alabama on a missed field goal return to earn a spot in the SEC Championship Game.

They improved to 12-and-1 by defeating Missouri in the title game and had help to leap into the second spot in the BCS Standings.

Auburn won this game in 2011, and a victory would give the SEC a victory in every BCS title game since its inception in 2007.
