Josh Smith hit the game-winning bucket with just over a second to play as the Pistons held off the Suns 110-108 at The Palace of Auburn Hills on Saturday.
Smith ended with 25 points, 11 rebounds and five assists for Detroit, who have won two in a row after snapping a six-game skid.
Greg Monroe totaled 20 points and 12 boards while Brandon Jennings had 18 assists.
Andre Drummond helped out with 13 points, 13 rebounds and five blocks in the win.
The Pistons are off until they host Utah on Friday.
