The great Roger Federer was an easy winner in first-round action at the Australian Open.
Federer, who was relegated to the No. 6 seed in the year’s first major, dominated Australian James Duckworth, 6-4, 6-4, 6-2, in a mere one hour, 46 minutes at Rod Laver Arena.

Two-time defending champion Victoria Azarenka was a first-round victor yesterday as well in the Australian Open.
The former World No. 1 Azarenka was seeded second.
She defeated Johanna Larsson of Sweden 7-6 (7-2), 6-2.
Azarenka hasn’t lost at this event since 2011, defeating Li Na in last year’s final and Maria Sharapova in the 2012 championship match.
