Three-time reigning winner and second-seeded Novak Djokovic made it to the third round of the Australian Open.

He knocked out Leonardo Mayer in straight sets to advance.

Top-seeded Rafael Nadal cruised past Aussie native Thanasi Kokkinakis in round two.

Also moving on is third-seeded David Ferrer, who needed four sets to oust Adrian Mannarino.

Sixth-seeded Roger Federer had a difficult time in the third set but advanced after the win in the second round.

Five-time women’s champion of this event and top-seeded Serena Williams took care of business with a straight sets victory.

Third-seeded woman Maria Sharapova advanced after a three-set win over Karin Knapp.

Tenth-seeded Caroline Wozniacki dropped Christina McHale of the U.S. to get into round three.

Play has been halted on some courts due to extremely high temperature and lightning.
