The Detroit Red Wings dropped a 4-1 decision to the St. Louis Blues at Joe Louis Arena last night and may have lost more than the game.
Goalie Jimmy Howard left the contest midway through the second period with what the team is calling a lower-body injury.
Howard missed eight games last month with a sprained knee.
Before leaving the game, Howard gave up three goals on 22 shots, while Petr Mrazek stopped 13 of the 14 shots on goal he faced in relief.
Gustav Nyquist scored Detroit’s lone goal, while Darren Helm returned to the ice for the first time in seven games.
The Wings host the Chicago Blackhawks tomorrow night.
