NHL – The Detroit Red Wings Fall In Another Shootout

The Detroit Red Wings fell to the Ottawa Senators, 2-1 in an shootout last night at Joe Louis Arena.

Gustav Nyquist’s 25th goal of the season gave Detroit the early lead.

But, Ottawa’s Clarke MacArthur tied the game late in the third period, blasting a shot past Wings goalie Petr Mrazek, who was screened on the play.

Neither team was able to score in the overtime period.

Ottawa then won the shootout 3-2.

The Wings are off today, they return to action tomorrow playing host to the Boston Bruins, who are just two points behind Detroit in the Atlantic Division standings.
