NHL – The Red Wings Lose to The Capitals

The Detroit Red Wings’ playoff hopes entered a danger zone as they fell to the Washington Capitals, 2-1, at Joe Louis Arena yesterday.

Darren Helm scored the lone goal for Detroit, who is tied for third place in the Atlantic Division with Boston.

Washington’s Evgeny Kuznetsov’s power-play goal in the first and Mike Green’s goal in the second sealed the deal.

Ottawa is only two points behind the Bruins and Wings for the second wild card spot in the East.
