Isaiah Thomas scored a season-high 34 points as the Celtics got off to a quick start en route to a 113-103 win over the Pistons at The Palace of Auburn Hills.
Jae Crowder added 17 points for the Celtics, who are tied with Brooklyn for the seventh seed in the Eastern Conference with Indiana and Miami just a game back.
The Pistons came within two points in the third, but couldn’t take the lead.
Reggie Jackson posted 21 points and 15 assists, and Andre Drummond had 22 points and 14 rebounds as Detroit fell to 30-and-47.
