Shane Greene fired eight shutout innings as the Detroit Tigers blanked the Pittsburgh Pirates 2-0 in the middle of a three-game series at PNC Park last night.
Greene struck out three while giving up just three hits and no walks as he moved to 2-and-0.
Joakim Soria closed it out for his third save.
Rajai Davis had two hits and an RBI, while Ian Kinsler drove in the other run for Detroit, who improves to 7-and-1.
A.J. Burnett fanned eight in six-and-two-thirds innings of one-run ball, but fell to 0-and-1 with the tough-luck loss.
The Pirates are 3-and-5.
The two teams play the final game of their series tonight in Pittsburgh.
First pitch is 7:05 p.m.
