Local Hockey – The Marquette Iron Rangers Are Back On The Ice

Posted on April 27, 2015 in Michigan Sports News.

The Iron Rangers hockey team is returning to Marquette.

The Great Lakes Hockey League has granted an expansion franchise to Marquette for the 201502016 season.

Owner and General Manager Robert Airaudi says the team will honor it’s history by taking the logo and name of the team that last played in Marquette in 1976.

The league unanimously approved the expansion at meetings in Eagle River Wisconsin on Saturday.

The Iron Rangers will be the tenth team in a league that has teams in Wisconsin and Michigan.

Tryouts will be held for the team in June and in August.
