The Detroit Tigers open a three-game series with the White Sox in Chicago tonight, their last stop on a ten-game road trip.
First pitch is 8:10 p.m.
Detroit earned a split of a four game series with Kansas City Sunday and began the trip winning two of three in Minnesota.
Shane Greene (3-1) will get the start for the Tigers tonight, while the White Sox counter with Jeff Samardzija (1-2).
Tigers shortstop Jose Iglesias is hoping he’ll be in tonight’s lineup against the White Sox after he left Sunday’s game in Kansas City with groin tightness.
Iglesias said the decision to come out of the game in the sixth inning was to give him a better chance of coming back sooner rather than later.
Tigers starter Justin Verlander is scheduled to have a third MRI during the team’s series in Chicago.
The test is to find out whether the fluid around his triceps is going away and he will continue to undergo MRI’s until the inflammation is gone.
Verlander has been on the disabled list since the beginning of the season.
