The double scored Anthony Gose, as the Tigers snapped their two-game losing streak.
J.D. Martinez scored the team’s other run on a solo home run in the fourth inning.
Starting pitcher Alfredo Simon pitched into the eighth inning.
He gave up one run on six hits while striking out six, but got the no decision.
Angel Nesbitt threw a scoreless 10th inning to get the win, the first of his career.
The two teams play game-two of their three-game series tonight.
First pitch is 7:08 p.m.
