The Detroit Tigers hung on to beat the A’s 3-2 yesterday in Oakland to take two games out of the the three game series.
Yoenis Cespedes hit a three-run homerun against his former team in the fifth inning.
Pitcher Alex Wilson started the game for Detroit.
Wilson pitched three innings of scoreless ball and then gave way to Kyle Ryan.
Ryan earned the win, giving up one run on three hits in three innings and Joakim Soria notched his 15th save of the season.
Tonight Detroit continues their road trip with the first of four games against the Los Angeles Angels.
Buck Farmer has been called up from Triple-A Toledo to make his first start of the year for the Tigers, while the C.J. Wilson takes the mound for the Angels.
