He gave up four runs on five hits while issuing four walks in seven innings.
Miguel Cabrera doubled in Detroit’s only run in the ninth inning.
In this afternoon’s series finale, Detroit sends Shane Greene to the mound and Jesse Hahn gets the start for Oakland.
