MLB – The Detroit Tigers Send Three To The all Star Game

Posted on July 7, 2015 in Professional Sports News.

The Tigers will send at least three players to this year’s All-Star Game in Cincinnati.

Shortstop Jose Iglesias, outfielder J.D. Martinez and pitcher David Price were all named to the American League team yesterday.

Outfielder Yoenis Cespedes is one of five players who could fill the remaining roster spot as part of the Final Vote.

The other candidates for that honor are Red Sox shortstop Xander Bogaerts, Twins second baseman Brian Dozier, Yankees outfielder Brett Gardner and Royals third baseman Mike Moustakas.

Miguel Cabrera was voted in as the starting first baseman for the AL, but a calf injury will keep him out of the Midsummer Classic.

Angels first baseman Albert Pujols will start in Cabrera’s place.
