MLB – The Detroit Tigers Drop Game Two Against The Seattle Mariners

Posted on July 8, 2015 in Professional Sports News.

Robinson Cano singled with two on and one out in the 11th inning to send the Seattle Mariners past the Detroit Tigers, 7-6, at Safeco Park Tuesday night.

Detroit led early, but needed home runs from Alex Avila and Yoenis Cespedes to rally twice.

The Tigers stranded a pair in the 11th against reliever Charlie Furbush.

Ian Krol allowed a hit and got a force out to start the bottom of the inning, but Franklin Gutierrez and Cano hits scored the game-winner.

Nick Castellanos and Marc Krauss also homered in the loss.

Cano had an earlier home run and Austin Jackson added a grand slam for Seattle.

The two teams will play the rubber match of their three-game series this afternoon.

Game time is 3:40 p.m.

Anibal Sanchez will take the mound for Detroit, up against J.A. Happ of the Mariners.
