The Detroit Red Wings have signed left wing Eric Tangradi to a one-year contract.
Tangradi, 26, spent the 2014-15 season with the Montreal Canadiens’ organization.
He picked up 14 goals and 17 assists, along with 56 penalty minutes, in 48 games for the AHL’s Hamilton Bulldogs.
He had no points and 17 penalty minutes in seven games with the Canadiens.
The 6-4, 221-pound Tangradi will compete for a spot on the Red Wings roster in training camp but is expected to start the season with the Grand Rapids Griffins.
