Starting pitcher Anibal Sanchez picked up the win, giving up four runs, three earned, on five hits, while issuing five walks and striking out six in six and one third innings.
Joakim Soria notched his 19th save of the season.
The Tigers begin a four-game series against the Twins in Minnesota tonight.
