The Detroit Tigers broke open a tie game with three runs in the eighth inning and another in the ninth to hold off the Chicago Cubs, 10-8 at Wrigley Field Tuesday night.
Ian Kinsler went five-for-five with one of Detroit’s three home runs and Jose Iglesias added four hits.
J.D. Martinez and Anthony Gose both homered.
Chicago got a three-run homerun from Kyle Schwarber to help erase their deficit.
The game was stopped for more than two hours in the third inning because of rain with the Tigers ahead, 5-2.
Both teams used seven pitchers in the game.
The two teams play the final game of their short two-game series this evening in Chicago.
First pitch at Wrigley Field is 8:05 p.m.
Daniel Norris will take the mound for Detroit, up against Jon Lester of the Cubs.
