MLB – The Detroit Tigers Sweep Attempt Falls Short

The Tigers bid for a series sweep fell short as they were shutout by the Tampa Bay Rays 8-0 Wednesday night at Comerica Park.

Kyle Lobstein was charged with the loss.

He surrendered five runs on seven hits while striking out six in five and two third innings.

Anthony Gose went two-for-four at the plate as Detroit was held to seven hits.

The Tigers begin a seven game road trip in the first of a four game series against the Indians in Cleveland tonight.

Alfredo Simon will start for Detroit, while Cleveland sends Danny Salazar to the mound.
