Red Wings forward Johan Franzen has been cleared by doctors to take part in Detroit’s upcoming training camp and preseason games.
Franzen appeared in 33 games last season, but did not play after suffering a concussion in early January.
New head coach Jeff Blashill says if the forward stays healthy, then the Wings will be a much better hockey team with his size and ability to score goals.
Franzen says playing in a few games will be his final test and he’s looking forward to competing again.
