MLB – The Tigers Rally After Combined No-hitter Broken Up

Posted on September 23, 2015 in Professional Sports News.

The Tigers bid for a combined no-hitter was broken up in the ninth inning, but Detroit came back for a 2-1 walkoff win in the tenth over the White Sox Tuesday night.

Starting pitcher Daniel Norris was on a pitch count in his second start since returning from an oblique strain and was pulled after five perfect innings.

Buck Farmer, Ian Krol and Drew VerHagen each pitched one inning without allowing a hit, but Neftali Feliz gave up a triple in the ninth and was charged with Chicago’s only run.

Anthony Gose singled in the tenth and scored from first base on a Rajai Davis walk-off triple.

In this afternoon’s series finale, Justin Verlander takes the mound for the Tigers, while Frankie Montas gets his first Major League start for the White Sox.
