DNR Shooting Ranges
The DNR shooting ranges (except Dansville) will be open on Labor Day, September 7. Come out to the ranges to get ready for the upcoming hunting seasons or just come to target shoot with your friends and family. The Ortonville range has a 3-D archery course for archers who want to get that perfect shot. Visit the DNR shooting range webpage at www.michigan.gov/shootingranges to get updated information about the Dansville, Ortonville, Pontiac Lake, Rose Lake, and Sharonville staffed ranges.
Are you planning to hunt but never purchased a hunting license before? Now is the time to sign up for a hunter education course. You will need that hunter education certificate to purchase your license. Online instruction is also offered. To get ready for your hunt, use the Mi-HUNT feature to find public hunting lands in Michigan.
You can purchase hunting and fishing licenses online 24-hours a day or make a campground reservation six months in advance at Michigan’s 102 state parks and recreation areas at www.midnrreservations.com.
Fall is coming to Pure Michigan, so get out and enjoy it!
