The Michigan State Spartans dropped four spots down to number-five in the Top-25 AP Basketball poll released yesterday.
The 14-1 Spartans lost their first game of the season a week ago in Iowa in their Big ten opener.
Kansas and Oklahoma moved to the top two spots.
Kansas (12-1) received 44 first-place votes from the 65-member national media panel while Oklahoma (12-0) got the other 21.
Maryland and Virginia both moved up one spot to third and fourth while Michigan State fell to fifth.
North Carolina, Arizona, Providence, Kentucky and Xavier completed the Top Ten.
