NHL – The Red Wings Win Third Straight On Road Trip

Justin Abdelkader scored his 13th goal of the season with just under seven minutes left to send the Red Wings past the San Jose Sharks, 2-1, at the SAP Center Thursday night.

Petr Mrazek made 35 saves and Detroit stopped all three of San Jose’s power plays.

Danny DeKeyser put the visitors ahead midway through the opening period, but Joel Ward countered 1:41 later for the Sharks.

Goaltender Martin Jones turned away 23 shots in the loss.

Detroit has won three straight to start the road trip and plays at Anaheim on Sunday.
