NHL – The Red Wings Fall To The Flyers

The Red Wings fell to the Flyers Tuesday night 4-3 on the road.

Pavel Datsyuk had a goal and an assist in the loss, the second in a row for the Wings.

Andreas Athanasiou scored his sixth goal of the season.

Michael Raffl and Wayne Simmonds both scored in the first to give the Flyers a lead they would never relinquish.

The Flyers have 78 points and pulled within one point of the Red Wings for the final Eastern Conference wild-card playoff berth.

The Wings have lost five of seven and have a tenuous grasp on the final playoff spot. The Red Wings play their next three games on the road.

They have made the playoffs 24 straight seasons.
