NHL – The Red Wings Get A Win – Beat The Blue Jackets

Jimmy Howard made 27 saves and the Red Wings regained their hold on a playoff spot Thursday with a 3-1 victory over the Blue Jackets.

Luke Glendening, Henrik Zetterberg and Darren Helm scored for the Red Wings, who improved their record to 35-25-11 and moved one point ahead of Philadelphia in the Eastern Conference playoff race.

The Flyers have two games in hand.

The victory was Howard’s second since Dec. 3.

He had a 1-9-4 record in his previous 14 decisions before beating the Blue Jackets.
