Jordan Zimmerman allowed his first run as a Tiger, but Miguel Cabrera’s two-homerun, four-hit game more than made up for it, ending Detroit’s four-game losing streak with a 7-3 win over the A’s on Monday night at Comerica Park.
Cabrera broke out of an 0-for-13 slump with a first-inning solo homerun to right field off of Oakland starter Kendall Graveman.
He hit one to nearly the same spot in the fifth inning for a three-run shot to break the game open, and that was followed by a Victor Martinez homerun.
The Tigers and the A’s tangle again tonight at Comerica Park.
The first pitch is at 7:10.
