MLB – The Tigers Sweep The Twins

Jarrod Saltalamacchia doubled home the go-ahead run in the eighth inning, Nick Castellanos hit a three-run homerun, and the Detroit Tigers beat the Minnesota Twins 6-5 yesterday for their fifth straight victory.

Mark Lowe (1-0) pitched a perfect seventh for the win.

Justin Wilson worked a scoreless eighth and Francisco Rodriguez converted his seventh save in eight opportunities.

The Tigers are off today.

They travel to Cleveland and will open up the three-game series tomorrow.

Justin Verlander (2-2) will make his sixth start of the season.

The Indians will counter with Josh Tomlin.

Game time for all three games is 6:10.
