The Tigers lost for the fourth time in the last five games……as they fell to the Los Angeles Angels,
5 to 1, in last night’s opener of a three-game series in Anaheim.
Starter Jhoulys Chacin threw a complete game four-hitter – striking out 10 – to lead Los Angeles to the game 1 win.
Justin Verlander pitched well, but got tagged with the loss.
He gave up four runs, while striking out 7, over seven-and-a-third innings.
The Tigers resume the series tonight with game 2.
First pitch is at 10:05.
