Justin Upton’s two-run triple in the top of the 4th inning turned out to be the game-winning hit for the Tigers….as they rolled to an 11 to 8 win over the White Sox, last night, in Chicago.
That win is the ninth in the last 13 games for the Tigers.
Jordan Zimmerman got the win – his ninth of the year – but it wasn’t easy.
He allowed six runs – four of those were earned – over seven innings.
The Tiger’s offense was rolling last night.
They scored one run in the first inning, two in the second, three in the third, and four in the fourth.
J.D. Martinez reached base five times and scored three times.
Miguel Cabrera reached base five times and scored twice, and Juston Upton drove in four.
The series wraps up tonight in Chicago.
Mike Pelfrey will start for the Tigers and Chris Sale goes for the White Sox.
Game time is 8:10.
