Josh Donaldson hit a three run home run and A.J. Dickey threw seven strong innings as the Toronto Blue Jays beat the Detroit Tigers 6 TO 1 yesterday in Toronto.
The Tiger’s only run came on a triple by Mike Aviles in the 5th inning.
James McCann drove him in with a ground-out to the right side.
Anibal Sanchez started for the Tigers and took the loss.
He pitched 4 innings, giving up 5 runs on 8 hits while striking out 6 and walking 2.
Major League Baseball will now take the mid-season break for the All-star game.
That game will be played tomorrow night in San Diego.
The Tigers begin the second half of the season Friday evening, July 15th, with a weekend series against the Kansas City Royals at Comerica Park.
