The Tigers made it 8 wins in a row by edging past the Chicago White Sox, 2 to 1, last night at Comerica Park.
J.D. Martinez – just off the disabled list – crushed a solo home run off of White Sox left-hander
Chris Sale in the bottom of the 8th inning and that was the game-winner for Detroit.
Michael Fulmer started for the Tigers.
He pitched 6 and 2/3 innings, giving up one run on 5 hits, striking four and walking one.
Shane Greene got the win.
He pitched 1 and 1/3 innings giving up no runs and no hits while striking out two.
Frankie Ridriguez threw a scoreless ninth for his 30th save of the season.
The series wraps up today at Comerica Park.
Jordan Zimmermann, just off the disabled list himself, will start for the Tigers and the White Sox will send out Jose Quintana.
The first pitch is scheduled for 1:10.
