Home runs from Avisail Garcia and Jose Abreu powered the Chicago White Sox to a 6 to 3 win over the Tigers in yesterday’s finale of that three-game series down at Comerica Park.
It was a rough outing for starter Jordan Zimmerman.
He gave up six runs before leaving the game with two outs in the second inning because of an injured lat.
Jose Quintana started the game for the White Sox and he was the game winner.
Quintana pitched 7 and 1/3 innings, giving up 3 runs on 8 hits while striking out 3 and walking one.
Alex Wilson, Kyle Ryan, and Mark Lowe also pitched for Detroit.
The Tigers will begin a weekend series with the Mets tonight at Comerica Park.
Justin Verlander will start for the Tigers and the Mets will send out Noah Syndergaard.
Game time is at 7:10.
