MLB – The Cleveland Indians Clinch The American League Central

Posted on September 27, 2016 in Professional Sports News.

The Cleveland Indians clinched their first Central Division title since 2007 when they beat the Tigers, 7 to 4, in last night’s opener of a four-game series at Comerica Park.

That loss dealt a major blow to Detroit’s playoff chances because it left them two games behind the Baltimore Orioles with just six games to go in the regular season.

J.D. Martinez drove in two runs to lead the Tigers’ offensive attack in last night’s loss.

The series continues tonight at Comerica Park.

Justin Verlander will take the mound for the Tigers and the Indians will send out Mike Clevinger.

Game Time is 7:10.
